Work in Progress

Hello!

Today I will talk, just a little bit, about how I come up with some of my ideas…

Sometimes I have something really clear in mind! A photo I took or saw it on a magazine, a vase of flowers or food on my plate!

But sometimes an idea evolves…

For instance, yesterday I was working on patterns… I wanted to work on my kitchen floor pattern 😍👇🏾

But it happens I found it quite hard … I need a bit more practice on scale/size/space and keeping a steady hand when doing those shapes…

so then I kept on going and trying other shapes: flowers, splashes that reminded me of fried eggs… and then I started doodling around and practicing zentangle shapes and then I’ve decided to change one of those shapes slightly so it could be a pea pod shape:

With that in mind, the it (the mind) flew wild and the tree came along… and some I wanted to draw a girl sitting under it (except I can’t draw people) and then I thought how cool it would be have giant mushrooms (because I LOVE mushrooms!!! 🍄😍) and then I though, a Magic Forest (where else do you get giant mushrooms, besides wonderland?! 😉) and Magic brought me first Starts and then later a witch hat (which I should also work more on it…)

And voilá! Magic Forest was born!

Still a work in progress because I intend to add colors to it (I love coloring! And even more my own creations! 😁)

And you? Do you also have a process for creation?! Is it always the same or does it change?! Or you “final goal” oriented or “let the mind flow”?

Keep Curious!

Tree and flowers…

I quite have my ay with the flowers. When I do them, they make me smile, I see my hand on them and I am satisfied!
But with trees I am still working on… Do I want leaves or not? I still don’t see myself in them… So I guess I will keep on practicing 😉

Eu geralmente me reconheço no desenho finalizado!
Eu não consigo me reconhecer no final…
Bom, é continuar treinando então 😉

tree in arabesques

When I was a kid, as every kid, I liked to draw… but after I grew up I’ve decided I wasn’t cut up for it, since I wasn’t even able to draw a tree… and gave on drawing at all (that and the fact that some very good friend of mine was a professional “drawer” 😛 and kept pointing out how good she was and how cr*p I was… women, go figure)

Anyhow, now that I am wiser, I realize my draws don’t suck, they are awesome! I just never cared to draw a real tree, I drew cartoon like trees… And I was great in geometrical designs! Good hand for it! 😛

So, here is my new style of drawing trees… So much more me! So much more fun!

Isn’t it great when you are free from other judgments and start seeing for yourself?!
